New York Web

Developer: metalab communications, Inc
Subject: New York

One might expect a site devoted to all things New York to be slick, hip, chic, and all those other words some people associate with the cultural side of the Big Apple. New York Web, however, does manage to embody these things with its cool design and metropolitan content.

The site is divided into four main sections which include "MetaCulture," an offering of NY-related book reviews, features, forums; "GrooveCulture," a music section covering the New York Rock/Alternative, Hip Hop/R&B, and Electronic Dance scenes; "StyleCulture," which concentrates on the latest fashion trends and styles; and "NightCulture," a section devoted to New York's clubs and restaurants with a dash of social climbing tips thrown in for good measure. Users can also enter the "cafe" for a chat with other New York Web visitors and are encouraged to send their critical comments to site designers via a well-designed feedback page.

Surfing New Yorkers should get a kick out of the localized information here, while non-natives will enjoy their cybervisit to the city thanks to the hip design and happening content.*
