Thanks Xavier for the observations. I utterly agree that there is work to be done. NY's nightculture is driving us nuts because it shifts so rapidly that element alone could eat all all our time and energies. Its to the point where we'd have to do 8 events every night to keep current and with all these strange new DAY responsibilties, that's not liquid anymore I tell you!
With that in mind we're convening a staff of nightcrawlers to go forth and report weekly on where The Scene stands be it Rave, Gay, Fashion, Rock, Or Sexculture. So stay tuned baby, cause we're going to do a RADICAL overhaul that should make you throb!
That said, we've pretty much decided its futile to track EVERY SINGLE PARTY is existence. For instance we have gotten a deluge of mail concerning XS and its on our hold list to be added. I mean we're really intrigued. However, taste as you well know, is a dictatatorship. We recieve mail telling us we should put Limelight Thursdays on the list because its Da Bomb and that is NOT about to happen . System Thursdays we loathe, it used to be on the list when it was David Sarnier's jam but now we cannot in good faith recommend System Thursdays because the last time we were there it was horribly boring. Also personal vendattas play a big part of it too. There are certain promoters who are so incredibly unprofessional, we cannot in good faith give them an endorsement. There are CERTAIN individuals who show nightclubbers no respect until you pull rank and having to shit on them before they give you the respect you deserve. One shouldn't have to announce that one is press to be dealt with in a civil fashion. While we try to convene a list that is diverse and provacative I don't know how we could go about pleasing all the people all the time.
That said thank you for chilling out in NYW. We're reallly psyched about the new material brewing. What you browsed was just the beginning. Wait until it grows up to fulfill its destiny. We are going to move carefully because we want our structure to be striking and memorable. Its gonna be jagged. Thanks for showing us love.
