I am very happy with MODELS.com and suggest anyone not already on the site who wishes to be a model consider getting a membership. It's very easy to use and definiately a great way to network with industry professionals! Thank you MODELS.com!
How did you become interested in modeling?
Since I was a little girl, I've loved being the center of attention, so naturally I became involved in theatre groups and acting. I began actively particpating in drama classes and clubs when I was eleven years old. It was when I was about fifteen, and searching for my own unique style, that I really started looking through fashion magazines and taking notice of how esthetically pleasing they were to me. In additon to acting, I became very interested in fashion and fashion models, and when I was told that I looked like some of the girls whom I admired in the magazines, it was then that I deciding to pursue modeling in additon to acting.
What agencies have you been in contact through MODELS.com
I have been in contact with Supreme Management, Saragaynor Management, Vision Management (both in New York City and Los Angeles), and Temptation Management.
What was your experience with them?
Well, Supreme has contacted me three times now, each time requesting additional photos. Everytime I send them however they seem to either forget about me or just become very busy and forget the fact they scouted me. That's pretty frustrating, but I am not in anyway going to hold it against them, I just hope one day they will remember that they asked for more pics and respond back. I am planning on moving back to Los Angeles at the end of the summer and Vision Models in LA were very responsive to that and told me to get in touch when I get back to LA. Same with Temptation and Saragaynor, both of which are Los Angeles based agencies. Vision NYC told me I needed to work on my body and to get back to them, but I think I'd much rather pursue the Los Angeles market than NYC; I don't want to lose too much weight so that I am non-existent.
What advice would you have for other aspiring models trying to get noticed by these agents?
For other aspiring models I advise them to just be themselves, have confidence, and if they go to open calls make sure they are dressed fashionably without looking overdone. Don't take any rejection to seriously, most likely, the agency that once rejected you will end up getting in contact with you later. The industry is constantly fluctuating. Just remember your chance to shine will come, just be PATIENT! (I need to be as well :) )
