But that bankable blankness, that necessary silence can sometimes create the stereotype of models being empty of intelligence or substance. So how cool it is a month later, while in the middle of her MODELS.com cover shoot when the languid girl who had now emerged as one of the new runway stars of the season reflected on her status as girl-most-wanted.

" I'm very happy to have done the shows I have but I don't think I need to start acting differently. I realized a long time ago that in this business you're like a product and it's not personal, so even though at first it was quite difficult to make that separation, I now know what to take personally and what not to take personally."

That the 18 year old Quebec native should have learnt that lesson is not what's shocking. That she could articulate it this well and this honestly was the refreshing slap of reality to the old cliches about dumb models. "Keep talking Claudelle!" prompts the shoot's photographer Kelly Ryerson. "I think that's what is interesting to photograph because after a month of putting it on and taking it off, I think its important for us to get across that she's real and intelligent and absolutely sane. I, for one am very happy to see that" "It's unusual that you get to be presented as yourself as a model," offers Claudelle.."I think if you're going to do well in this business you have to remember that "you" are always relative to what other people think you are."
