Born in 1991 in Redcliff, Alberta, Canada.

Scouted in a mall in Calgary, Canada.

After a childhood friend died at the age of 15, Joey had his friend's face tattooed on his chest. He also has a number 11 with hockey sticks on his right shoulder, a tattoo he shares with two of his childhood friends.

Plays hockey for fun.

Notoriously proud of being Canadian, and often mentions how proud he is of his hometown in interviews.
