Marc Jacobs was born on the Upper West Side of
New York in 1963. He's one of the premier
American designers. After high school, Jacobs
attended Parson's School of Design. He heads his
own line Marc Jacobs, which was started in 1986
with business partner Robert Duffy, his diffusion
line Marc by Marc Jacobs (2001) and is the artistic
director of Louis Vuitton (1997).
