Being politically active is extremely important to get one’s voice heard. However, if anything the fashion industry in general is the most hypocrital sector politically in the world. There should be an article written explaining at least “one” positive aspect regarding fashion. Fashion people being environmental is comical at best as the textile industry is one of the worst polluters in the world. The industry that claims to be trendsetting is just recycling fads, subcultures, time periods, etc. Any logical educated environmentally aware individual knows buying majority of fashion from second hand stores helps the environment immensely, saves money, and still makes one an individual. It would be really fascinating to see an educated aware individual model clothes being able to speak freely about the production of fashion. I thoroughly enjoy design but fashion is what people that read this blog should be calling thier state representatives about. Make clothes out of hemp, fine companies and agencies that contract work to underweight females that create body dysmorphia in females. Also start really enforcing the wide spread sexual harassment of females models and male models. This industry makes me sick to my stomach. If the vast majority of individuals knew how bad fashion is for society we could reject new clothes and make huge strides in so many areas in our beautiful world.
