The Models.com Model of the Year (MOTY) Industry Awards are the voice of over 250 voters representing a wide range of the industry’s top professionals, including many of the industry’s top stylists, designers, photographers, editors, hair and makeup artists and casting directors, and a wide range of the next generation of the industry’s emerging creative talents. Participants this year included Katie Grand, Bethann Hardison, Anita Bitton, Carlos Nazario, Melanie Ward, Zoey Grossman, Piergiorgio del Moro, Samuel Ellis Scheinman, Barbara Nicoli & Leila Ananna, Campbell Addy, Brianna Capozzi, Hung Vanngo, Ben Grimes, Emma Wyman, Jorden Bickham, and many more.
Fashion’s biggest fans also got in on the action: the Readers’ Choice section offers an up-to-date and often surprising selection chosen by you, the MDC readers. The Models.com community has spoken, with tens of thousands of members pushing choices that are every bit as exciting as those provided by insiders.
Finally for the first time ever and to celebrate our 20th anniversary (we’re getting up there!), the Models.com staff will be presenting the Lifetime Achievement Award, given to models that have exceeded in outstanding achievements in their career.
The awards are broken down into 6 categories as follows:
The singular face that defined the year as a whole with ubiquitous industry demand and presence. They distinguished themselves via top tier bookings with the best photographers, stylists, and clients earning next-level visibility, making them 2020’s foremost star.

Like model of the year, the breakout star has had a substantial presence on the modeling scene, only their careers have just begun to take off in the past several seasons. As a newcomer to the fashion industry, these rising stars have racked up coveted campaigns and impressive editorial work in a short period of time and are set to leave a lasting mark on the industry.

These are the people who looked beyond social numbers and used their heightened platform to change the world for the better. Whether it was organizing within their community or bringing awareness to vital issues, these leaders were a powerful presence in a year that was full of strife.
For the first time ever and to celebrate 20 years of Models.com, our lifetime achievement award is presented to the supermodel who exceeds all levels of success, as permeable in pop culture as they are in the fashion scene. With her long-storied career, Naomi Campbell continued to remain relevant this year by fully embracing the digital sphere whether it was viral moments in hazmat suits or linking up with Beyonce, high profile interviews with her “No Filter” series, or connecting with her millions of fans and subscribers. Her continued championing for models and creatives of color did not let up this year, as she continues to showcase the true strength of the term longevity.
