They were an inseparable couple in both work and life. Both were models—he was a photographer; she, a painter. They were East Village habitués, often seen wandering the streets of Alphabet City or sitting in Tompkins Square Park, recently transplanted to Tribeca. Tali Lennox and Ian Jones were, in many ways, a classic downtown duo, both of them beautiful, talented, creative, and, most importantly, caring. This past Saturday, they were doing what many Manhattanites do on summer weekends, kayaking along the Hudson River upstate, when they capsized and were quickly separated, pulled apart by the rushing current. Lennox was saved by a passing boat, but the search for Jones was called off yesterday when a body matching his description was found in Poughkeepsie.

Over more than a decade in the industry, Jones proved himself to be charming and impassioned, dedicated, and even after all his success, humble. At the age of thirty-two, he was more than a model and more than a photographer. To many of us, he was a true and loyal friend, and one who will be deeply missed.

I am coming home to you @talilennox ! ??✈️?
